AS a resident of Charleston county i   Image titlet calms me some to know that this tragedy was perpetrated by an outsider. I want to believe that the people of Charleston are still some of the kinder, gentler people of the world. The city and the surrounding area are a civilized, caring society. I am greeted and I greet daily people I do not know. There are hello's, thank you's, doors held and many "Have a blessed day" exchanges. And they are genuine. I pray for the families of the deceased, and i pray for the city as a whole, that we will continue to trust each other no matter our color or creed.
